Cloud & DevOps Engineer

 

Description:

Eight Bells, is seeking an enthusiastic and tech savvy Cloud & DevOps Engineer to join our technology team in Athens. As part the team, the candidate position is focused on corporate technology resources and Cloud and Linux based infrastructure and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, deploying and maintaining our IaaS infrastructure as well as corporate resources internally used by the company. Technically, the candidate is driven to learn, organized and has a sound technical understanding of Linux and Cloud based technologies.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Building, maintaining and monitoring company IT infrastructure and services.
  • DevOps-practiced management of OpenStack private hosted clouds.
  • Deployment and maintenance of technology resources adhering to company research and commercial projects.
  • Evaluation and deployment of open-source technologies to improve our best-of-breed technology stack approach.


Essential Requirements:

  • BSc in Computer Science required or similar fields.
  • At least 2 years of working with Linux and open-source software.
  • Proven knowledge of working with scripting languages (Python, BASH).
  • Strong working knowledge of OpenStack or other cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of Containers and Kubernetes.
  • Proven knowledge of working with code repositories such as Git.
  • Knowledge of DevOps best practices.
  • Ability to read and understand complex technical information.
  • Good communication skills – must be able to convey technical and non-technical tasks to collaborators, in writing and verbally.
  • Competency to follow specification and produce high quality deliverables.

 

Desired Requirements:

  • MSc or PhD.
  • Any certification in regards to cloud will be an added advantage.
  • Solid background in software engineering

EIGHT BELLS is looking for self-motivated Research Scientist/Engineers at entry, mid and senior levels who are interested in working in a highly agile and dynamic R&D, technology transition and product development environment. Candidates will work collaboratively in the Cyber Security Domain to:

  • Refine research and develop products in the areas of cyber security.
  • Manage and implement of EU Research projects in the fields of cybersecurity and computer science. Composition of techno-economic studies in adjacent fields.


Job Duties

  • Perform R&D to understand security issues in networks, systems, software and/or applications.
  • Develop cyber security mechanisms and tools in some of the following example areas: penetration testing, risk assessment, static and dynamic code analysis, malware detection, prevention and mitigation planning, mixed criticality isolation and visualization, trusted computing.
  • Setup a sandbox environment, program network devices, evaluate and test cybersecurity mechanisms and tools (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection).
  • Summarize research results.
  • Work with a team to develop new mechanisms and modules suitable for integration into production framework.
  • Rigorously develop, test and document code.


Required skills and experience:

  • A MS degree (or higher) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of research experience in related technologies.
  • 2+ years’ experience in R&D projects execution.
  • Proficiency in English language, very good knowledge of MS Office, availability to travel abroad.
  • Good at one or multiple programming languages/web technologies, e.g., Python, C/C++, Java, JavaScript.
  • Comfortable working in Linux, test automation and version control tools (git, svn).

EIGHT BELLS is looking for a Systems Integration Engineer to join our 5G team which is focused on applications of 5G technology and multivendor elements at the network edge for virtualized edge, edge cloud and 5G solutions.

Job Duties

    • Network testing methodologies including test set usage and automation.
    • VNF and NFVi tools and standards knowledge: ONAP, OPNFV, ETSI NFV ISG, ONF.
    • Rest API, automation, and scripting skills including: Ansible, Gitlab CI, JSON, TOSCA, and Python.
    • Expertise in ethernet and IP networks is required: network design, routing protocols, L2/L3, MEF, and network security.
